AT&T to Suffer after Losing iPhone
It was a time of great prosperity for the people at AT&T when Apple announced that they would be the only carrier for the entire world that would handle the famed iPhone. Sure, there were some smart guys out there that managed to crack the smart phone and open it up to other networks. But that was not real common and it was kind of a moot point, considering that not just anyone could buy iPhones from Apple.
But these days things are a bit different. Apple announced that they would open their ranks and make it possible for their popular smart phones to be used on the Verizon network. This was a tremendous blow to the network for AT&T but it was not the only reason why the company is suffering so much right now.
Last year it was determined that AT&T had the worst possible network for reliability. This means that they were below even the smallest of carriers when it comes to dropped calls and so on. So now the problem is that AT&T is going to lose their cash cow with the Apple products and they are also going to have to figure out how to make their network better.
This is something that has been difficult. Until they received the Apple deal, AT&T was just not the company that many people wanted to deal with. They had higher prices and terrible service and simply weren’t impressing – or attracting - the customers.
